June 11, 2006 - We know updates have been few and far between,  so we feel we owe a little more to Erica's fans with this one.  So,  continuing the trend started by our friend Paliazzar a couple weeks ago,  here is another video.  You may have seen this one already,  but it is from a story on a Los Angeles television station regarding WOW.  Erica basically steals this feature from the other girls,  but isn't that always the case ;)

May 28, 2006 - Video of Jungle Grrrl from That Yin Yang Thing!!! - Paliazzar contributed an excellent 2-part video from Erica's appearance on TLC's That Yin Yang Thing.  Thanks!!!

April 14, 2006 - Jungle Phhhl meets Jungle Grrrl!!! - I met Jungle Grrrl for the first time last week as she passed through Cincinnati on a trip East.  After five years of reporting her triumphs in the ring and having her as an online friend,  you can only imagine how important the moment was to me.  I will never forget how kind Erica and her mom were to myself,  my wife Lisa and  my canine athlete Lacey as we all sat around the living room chatting for a couple of hours last Thursday night.  They were tired from traveling about 500 miles that day,  but she was all smiles and exhibited the same awesome sense of humor I had experienced over the phone so many times before.  Despite possibly being the most rowdy dog since Dino,  Lacey seemed to bond with Jungle Grrrl immediately,  and through the whole visit she and Erica engaged in a running game of fetch.  We remembered some of the highlights of her career,  but talked about other things too.  At one point,  Lisa and I told her mom how incredible her daughter was in the ring,  and Erica blushed.  That was,  as they say,  priceless. :).

The next morning we all got up early and went to breakfast.  My father in law Don joined us,  and seemed to be in a good mood.  The waitress was a real entertainer,  and served a side of comedy with our eggs and bacon.  Erica scolded me for not filling out the customer comment card the waitress asked us to fill out,  but I told her I was already getting spammed with the store coupons.  After about another hour and a half,  it was time to go.  Jungle was off to "parts unknown" (where all wrestlers hail),  and Lisa and I were off to work.  Erica gave us all a very warm hug,  climbed into the Jungle Mobile (complete with all her worldly possessions atop the car rack) and began pulling out of the parking lot.  As she was leaving,  the last I saw of her was when she blew us a kiss from the driver's seat.  Short,  fun,  a little sad... but oh so sweet!  Thank you Erica,  and thank you mom for letting Erica come see us :).

Dec. 25, 2005 - Two Brand New Image Galleries!!! - Thanks to long-time WOW fan and David McLane advocate Pali Azzar,  this week we are finally able to present video captures of Jungle Grrrl's Dec. 16 appearance on TLC's "That Yin Yang Thing".  And,  I might say,  excellent captures they are!  The appearance featured a particularly ravishing Jungle Grrrl introduced to teach a few soft-spoken,  timid band-mates of a West Coast rock band how to develop their own wrestling gimmick and bolster their self esteem.  After suplexing the show's host,  Erica led by example when she recited a few of her favorite mantras ("Never Hunt What you Can't Kill!"),  and proceeded to lead the smack talk exercise to a successful conclusion.  She really did look fantastic,  and it was great to see the Head Huntress back in action again.  Thanks to Pali for his excellent work.  I just may be employing those services again in the future :).

Erica also provided a few new candid pictures of herself and Heather Battey from a recent Toys for Tots event,  where Heather's Spiritual Fitness Wear clothing Line was center stage.  Toys for Tots is a great program for provided underprivelaged children gifts at Christmas.

Click the following thumbnail links to visit the respective galleries.  Happy Holidays!

gle Grrrl will be on That Yin Yang Thing next Friday,  Dec. 16,  at 7:00pm EST.  The program will repeat at 2am.

Dec. 9, 2005 - Jungle Grrrl will be on That Yin Yang Thing next Friday,  Dec. 16,  at 7:00pm EST.  The program will repeat at 2am.  The episode is titled "A Band Apart",  and here is the description from the TLC website:

What happens when rivalries threaten to tear a rock group apart? The Masters will use a female wrestler and bunny therapy to save the band.

My video capture card is on the fritz.  I intend to replace it and post this appearance some day,  but if you want to see Erica throw down in the near future you may have to catch this for yourself.

This update features two new photosets from Erica.  Enjoy and Merry Christmas!!!

October 29, 2005 - Jungle Grrrl on the tube,  Adrenaline-Unleashed News,  New Pictures and Happy Birthday!!! -

Every once in a while,  the magnificent beastess otherwise known as Jungle Grrrl graces the television screen with a brand new appearance,  reminding Hunters worldwide of just what we have been missing since that unfortunate,  sad day in 2001 when WOW went dark.  But,  have no fear.  You can't keep a legend down,  and we are on the threshold of yet another performance by this Princess of Pain.  In an upcoming episode of the new TLC reality program,  That Yin Yang Thing,  Jungle Grrrl will layeth the smacketh down on former American Gladiator Lee Reherman in what will doubtlessly be an astounding,  intergender display of her signature brand of wrestling brutality and might.  About the show,  Erica could only reveal, "My episode will be dealing with the group Mystic Roots.  I went and listened to them play @ the Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach, CA...they were great!!!!"  While details about the exact episode the grrrl will be starring in are currently difficult to discern from the program's published schedule,  fans can view a fleeting glimpse of Jungle Grrrl thrashing the host in the show's online preview by clicking here.  That Yin Yang Thing airs every Friday night at 8 and 11pm on The Learning Channel.  The Jungle will update you on news regarding Jungle Grrrl's electrifying encore as soon as they are known.

The folks at Adrenaline-Unleashed have tentatively scheduled events for November and January upcoming.  On their official website,  they have also announced that the dvd of their first event,  featuring none other than Erica Porter providing color commentary,  is in post production and very close to a release date.  While Erica's prowess as an athlete is indisputable,  now wrestling fans will have a chance to enjoy her skills on the mic, an underutilized talent to this point in her career.  In our opinion,  she is one of the funniest,  most intelligent and most honest women in the business,  often shooting her comments on topics and characters that more timid personalities wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.  In addition to the great card that night,  the dvd should be extremely interesting for what was said at ringside as well.  Like all things,  we will provide news and links when the show is available.

This update includes a photoset from Erica's trip to Korea in August of last year.  She really seemed to love the experience,  and not only of meeting such stars of the profession as Gangrael,  Norman Smiley and Viscera.  That was great,  but coming into contact with fans who dutifully serve our country and endure the hardships of active duty gave her a profound sense of appreciation.  Here is a picture of Erica with one soldier who she would like to contact her so that she could autograph and send him a hard copy.  Enjoy this special gallery.

In conclusion,  Monday is Erica's birthday.  She loves to receive greetings from her fans and she deserves the warm and fuzzies for all she has done to entertain you over the years.  No pressure,  but if you are so inclined :)... email her an e-card or send birthday wishes to junglegrrrl1@hotmail.com.

Happy Halloween!

About Erica:

I am a very self-sufficient driving person. I have always thrived on adversity. I have never liked to be told what to do, even from a very young age. I am very hard-headed and independent. I don't mind falling on my ass from time to time, as long as I know I gave 100% of myself. Even then, I do not do well with defeat, as evident in the ring. I tend to be an all or nothing type of person. I can be someone's very best friend, but if you cross me, I can also be your worst enemy. I am not very fond of female friendships, they tend to become competitive with me and I don't have time for that in my life. I love to be very active, especially when it is
challenging.

My teams of preference are as follows, NFL-Washington Redskins, they WILL go all the way this year, and I challenge anyone who feels otherwise... NBA-Utah Jazz, because I admired Karl Malone when he played at Louisiana Tech, and after being drafted by Utah  I was hooked... NHL-Washington Capitols... Soccer-Colombia, of course. I don't care too much for baseball, not enough action for a Huntress like myself.

I absolutely love to sail, and plan to a take a world cruise with "Tarzan" in about 5-7 years. We will be at sea for about 3 years, island hopping and
spending as much time or as little time as we please in each place.

I am very devoted to my family, whom I love very much. I have the utmost respect for my parents. I have an older brother who has the three most
beautiful children in the world, and I adore them. Two girls and a boy.

The thing I want most in life is to live without regrets. I hope that when people think of me, they think of an incredible woman, who could do anything she sets her mind to.
